How to Install a FiveM Clothing Pack

Adding a FiveM clothing pack is one of the fastest ways to upgrade server identity - but a bad install causes invisible bodies, crash loops, or missing textures. This guide walks through a clean install for ESX, QBCore, and QBox servers using assets from Gulag Creations.

Before you install - checklist

  • Confirm framework tags on the product page (ESX / QB / QBox).
  • Check if the pack is EUP, addon clothing, or replace - read the product description.

  • Back up your resources folder and database.

Step 1 - Download after checkout

Gulag Creations delivers instant digital download after checkout. Extract the ZIP to a clean folder. You should see stream folders, meta files, and a README or install note from the pack author.

Step 2 - Upload to your server

  1. Connect via SFTP or your host file manager.
  2. Place the resource in resources/[gulag]/your-pack-name.
  3. Ensure folder name has no spaces - use hyphens instead.

Step 3 - Add to server.cfg

Add a line after your framework and before scripts that depend on clothing:

ensure your-pack-name

Stream-heavy packs should start early enough to load before players spawn. If you use ox_lib or wardrobe scripts, follow the order in the pack README.

Step 4 - Framework-specific notes

ESX clothing install

Many packs hook into skinchanger / esx_skin or a wardrobe resource. Restart those after adding stream files. Clear server cache if textures stick on old models.

QBCore clothing install

Usually integrates with qb-clothing, illenium-appearance, or similar. Add pack stream paths, then restart appearance resource. Test on a dev server first.

QBox clothing install

Often uses ox_appearance or QBox wardrobe equivalents. Same rule: stream resource first, appearance script second, then test ped spawn.

Step 5 - Clear cache & test

  1. Restart the server fully (not just refresh).
  2. Delete client cache if you see purple/black models during test.
  3. Spawn as male and female ped - check gloves, masks, and bags.
  4. Verify in-game shop or job lockers if applicable.
